Taking a break from the noise and expectations of social media

The internet is a noisy place, it’s also a place I feel very small in.

Creating works and putting them out into the world trying to find them new owners is very hard.

Social media is full of artists painting every day and pumping out works, content, videos and tutorials like crazy. I don’t have the time like they do. I still have a full time job and finding the energy after working all week is hard.

Some say you need to show up and “paint every day even if you don’t want to”. I feel that shows in my work and it doesn’t make me inspired to keep going.

So I stop.

I calm down and leave the works until I feel I am ready for them again. Life is meant to be enjoyable and I hope that shows in my works once they are done, because they were made with interest and creativity that I was feeling at the time.

We need to slow down, but it doesn’t help when the modern world of algorithms are stacked against us small creators.

I’m letting you know I am still here, still going to create but it may be a while. Take a look around at what I already have on offer, there are lovely works still needing homes to fill your beautiful walls.
